Anna is a partner in our Ottawa office. She primarily focuses her practice on corporate and commercial law, employment, charity law, contracts, and real estate.
Anna acts for individuals and businesses of all sizes, from local entrepreneurs to international corporations, in a variety of industries and trades. As a part of her practice, Anna advises clients in all aspects of commercial affairs including incorporations, corporate governance, joint ventures, buying and selling of businesses, and corporate reorganizations. Anna also provides counsel to charities and regularly drafts, negotiates, and advises on contracts relating to ongoing business matters and operations.
Before immigrating to Canada, Anna worked as a corporate lawyer over 7 years in Ukraine, focusing her practice on cross-border transactions, M&A, and competition law in the energy and oil & gas sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Master of Laws from Donetsk National University, a Master of Law specializing in international trade and investment law from the University of Ottawa, and a Global Professional Master of Law from the University of Toronto. After graduating from law school, she articled with the Ministry of Attorney General, Legal Services Branch in Toronto. Anna is licensed to practice law in Ontario, as well as in Ukraine. In addition to English, she speaks Ukrainian and Russian languages.
Outside of work, Anna learns French and devotes time to the community as a board member of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Executive member of the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association and assists the Canada Ukraine Foundation with Ukraine-related humanitarian aid projects.
